It was a great day out for those lucky enough to enjoy the celebration of World Mental Health Day October 10th at the St. Edmond’s Church and Trinity Community centre. There was plenty to do as well as free food and drinks throughout the day. Compliments to the Gateshead Clubhouse for their catering
Activities included a fabulous face painter and a massage therapist who gave introductory 15 minute head and shoulder massage. Live acoustic music was available from a variety of accomplished musicians including the women’s choir from Tyneside Women’s Health .
There was also the opportunity to meet with mental health professionals from the voluntary sector and statutory services who set up information stalls in St. Edmond’s church. A popular event was the free raffle that had a variety of useful prizes from free cinema tickets at Bolden to numerous luxury chocolate boxes.
Thanks need to go to Gateshead Public Health and the Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group which supported the World Mental health Day event with the funding needed to make the event a success.
GMHUV played a lead role in the planning and delivery of the event and thanks need to go to volunteers that supported the event on the day
