Your City, Your Club, Your Mental Health
On the 7th September Samantha and Julie from Mental Health Matters met with Matt Price, Jimmy Litchfield and Sam Grasso of Coventry Rugby at Butts Park Arena to discuss matters surrounding mental health.
In any one year it is estimated that a staggering one in four of the British population will experience a mental health problem.
Mixed anxiety and depression are the most common mental health disorders experienced in the United Kingdom.
Although women are up to 3 times more likely to be treated for a mental health problem than men, suicide continues to be three times more common in men than in women and figures show that suicide is the leading killer of men under 45. Men also present much higher rates of drug and alcohol addictions.
Helping us to raise awareness Coventry Rugby have been supporting us in our mission to challenge stigma towards people with mental health needs and promote positive attitudes to mental health, raising awareness in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
Cov hooker and Community Head, Matt Price added, “Having had personal experience, through close family of Mental Health, it is re-assuring to know that help is only a phone call away and easily accessible. It’s ok to talk and it’s ok to tell people you need to talk. “
