David joined MHM as a trustee in October 2015 and became Chair of the Audit Committee in April 2016.
A qualified chartered accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, David obtained a BSc honours degree in Business Finance and Economics from the University of East Anglia.
David has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial finance and has significant board and audit committee experience developed in a number of sectors. In recent years, David was the Chief Financial Officer at Viapath, a public-private joint venture providing pathology services to over 2,000 NHS customers under contract. The organisation is 2/3 owned by the NHS and is described as a ‘scientific organisation with a clinical purpose’. He is passionate about driving innovation, improvement and efficiency in health provision to improve customer service and ultimately, improve patient outcomes.
In 2016, David took up a new role as Finance and Commercial Director of Smart DCC, the organisation tasked by Government to manage the rollout of 30m smart meters for gas and electricity consumers in Great Britain by 2020. Previously, David held senior finance roles at Eurostar, BSkyB and PwC.
